Rather than get lost in all the noise about the 1911 on March 29, 2011 we decided to hold off on our 1911 special until now. To kick it off, we have another quote from Jeff Cooper: “Pistols do not win wars, but they save the lives of the men who do. The noble 1911 is a mechanical marvel, whose ruggedness, dependability and ferocious power have comforted four issues of GIs, and which, unlike any other instrument you can name, is as much superior to its rivals as it was in 1917.”

Story: In New York a man was forced to defend himself from three home invaders who had already shot his dog. One suspect was found dead at the scene, a second was hospitalised from shotgun wounds, and a third suspect was in custody. The dog that had been shot is expected to survive.
Story: Houston Police have arrested a suspect in a drive by shooting that left one victim dead. The suspect is currently free on a $100,000 bond.
Story: In Lake Dallas Texas Police were alerted to a situation where a man had claimed to have killed his father and may have intended to harm his ex-girlfriend and former co-worker. The suspect was located and arrested when he pulled into the trailer park where the other parties were living together. Sheriff’s deputies went to the father’s home and found him deceased.
Story: In Houston Texas a man was shot while watching a pickup basket ball game. The suspect fled the scene and has not been located.
Story: A man was shot in the back at a South Houston Ice House and was listed in Serious, but Stable, condition. Everyone, including the victim, fled the scene however the victim was transported to a location that had a police officer who called for an ambulance. The article does not mention a motive, and the suspect remains at large.
