Finally we haven’t shot the Ruger SR22 since the last podcast so its status is unchanged and the Kimber Custom TLE II was the handgun chosen by the listeners to get the 1000 round test. Since the XD(m)-40 was a close second we decided that eventually we will put it to the 1000 round test after we put the Kimber through its paces.
Story: U.S. Representative Don Young got the answers he demanded from the BATFE in a letter they sent to him. Dealers should read the letter, if your not a dealer you might consider printing a copy of the letter and giving it to your local dealer so that they are aware of it.
Story: Over at the Active Response Training blog they have an article about a potentially dangerous flaw in the FNS. pistols from FNH USA. In essence the slide can be locked up requiring the trigger to be pressed in order to unlock it. The article links to videos demonstrating the issue.
Story: As part of the investigation into the Zimmerman-Martin Shooting more evidence has been presented to the defense. This evidence is believed to include material gained from investigators that interviewed gun dealers, surveillance video, Police radio transmissions, and more.
Story: A Houston Texas man was convicted in the fatal shooting of a party goer over loud music. The defendant claimed stand your ground as a defense in the trial and referenced it in the video he recorded of the incident. Seeing as the defendant was the aggressor the Texas Stand Your Ground law did not apply.
Story: Over at Sipsey Street Irregulars, one of the websites that broke the story on Fast & Furious, they have an article where one of the Fast & Furious victims signed a report on the investigation of weapons seized in Texas that was part of Fast & Furious. That victim was none other than Jaime Zapata who was killed in Mexico by a weapon believed to be part of Fast & Furious.
Story: Darrell Issa is willing to postpone the contempt vote against United States Attorney General Eric Holder in exchange for the release of more documents regarding the Fast & Furious.
